Podcast: “I Don’t Feel Like There’s a Blue Wave Coming in North Dakota”

U.S. House candidate Kelly Armstrong joined me on the radio show today to talk about his campaign and his upcoming debate with Democratic opponent Mac Schneider.

I asked Armstrong about national political trends, and the predictions for Democratic gains. “I don’t think there’s a blue wave coming in North Dakota,” he told me. He said that, at least in our state, the enthusiasm is in the “red column and not the blue column.”

He also said that red state Democrats can’t run away from their national party. “When the Democrats run away from the Democratic party they’re still Democrats,” he said.

I also spoke with state Rep. Tom Kading of Fargo who wants to put a cap on property valuation increases for the purposes of property taxes.
