The Washington Post has selected the best state-based political reporters in the country, and two names got picked from North Dakota.
The first is long-time Associated Press reporter Dale Wetzel who last year joined a new media venture at the Great Plains Examiner in addition to hosting a radio show.
The other is, uh, me.

I’m a little surprised, and very honored to be ranked with someone as accomplished as Wetzel. Back in March the WaPo also named SAB one of the best state-based political blogs, and the “blogger” title is one I’m more comfortable with.
I do original reporting on the blog, but I also do a lot of commentary and analysis. I guess I’ve got my feet planted in both worlds. But labels don’t matter that much to me. I do what I do here, and if other people feel that what I do should be recognized as being good information, then that’s pretty darn neat.
