Long ago, some people rode in sedan chairs. This was the real-life Flintstones’ car, with one person carried around by four other people. Today, we don’t use sedan chairs — if you want a jerky ride in a tiny space you can buy a Smart Car. Or you can buy a real car. Either way, the process has been automated, leaving Craigslist without a single job listing for sedan-chair carrier.

Today, most hamburgers are made by people. Yet thanks to a coalition of leftist ideological groups bankrolled by unions and led by Seattle City Councilman Kshama Sawant, that human touch on your meat patty may soon be a thing of the past.
