Veterans Day Open Thread

It is Veterans Day, so you know what you should do? Consider supporting one of these fine organizations.

Like the Wounded Warrior Project.

Or the Fisher House Foundation.

Or the Disabled American Veterans.

Or the North Dakota National Guard Foundation.

Or post your own ideas below.

In American society we like to pride ourselves on how we honor our military service members. This usually takes the form of symbolic gestures, like thanking said service members or giving up seats for the on flights.

While that sort of thing is all well and good, there are times when a little money or some volunteered time is worth more.

Posting will be light today. After I make my financial commitments to some of these organizations I’m going to spend some time with my kids and help them understand why they didn’t have to go to school today.

I hope you all enjoy the holiday.
