NM Watchdog story on education spending gets TV treatment

GOOD MONEY AFTER BAD?: New Mexico consistently finishes near the bottom in national education results but a recent survey shows that the state ranks 20th in per-pupil spending.

Are New Mexico taxpayers getting enough bang for their buck when it comes to spending on education?

That’s a logical question to ask after a New Mexico Watchdog story revealed that while student outcomes continue near the bottom in national rankings, New Mexico is ranked 20th when it comes to per-pupil spending. Click here to read the story.

The Watchdog report, as well as another story on higher education spending, was brought up in a “web extra” edition of “New Mexico In Focus,” the weekly public affairs program seen in most parts of the state on KNME-TV.
