IRS Planted Questions About Targeting Conservative Groups

When the IRS admitted to having inappropriately targeted conservative groups, it came at a meeting of the American Bar Association and it was prompted by a question from the crowd.

Which was stunning. One doesn’t normally thing of a major scandal being divulged during a question and answer panel discussion at a convention. But it turns out, the IRS had actually planned the exchange in advance.

“At the hearings this morning, Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller admitted Lerner knew about the question in advance, and that it was planned by the IRS,” reports Legal Insurrection.

Many concluded that the IRS had made the announcement and apology to get out in front of the IG report which was set to drop the next week. It appears that’s exactly what happened, up to and including the IRS staging a question and answer.
