I can report that Senator Heidi Heitkamp has decided to vote against confirmation of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
That’s per an exclusive scoop by WDAY (the folks I work for). “The process has been bad,” she said, but that she’ll ultimately oppose the nominee.
I’m on air right now, but I’m sure there will be more details forthcoming soon.
My initial reaction is to take this as an indication that Heitkamp may be tacitly conceding the race.
UPDATE: Here’s a report from WDAY.
UPDATE: Here’s Senator Heitkamp’s statement on the decision:

UPDATE: And here’s the Senator’s brother, all but calling the majority of North Dakotans who support Kavanaugh deplorables:
Heidi Heitkamp's brother Joel on MSNBC: "She may lose. But in the morning, when she's brushing her teeth, she needs to like the person she sees."
