Exclusive: Ashford tells Governor, ‘We’ll fight’

Accused by Gov. Dave Heineman of being soft on crime and “out of touch with the citizens of Omaha” Sen. Brad Ashford has heard enough.

Sen. Brad Ashford

In the middle of a growing battle over prison reform Ashford tells Heineman, “We’ll fight.”

During this exclusive on-camera interview (see video above) with Nebraska Watchdog, Ashford leaves nothing in the locker room blaming much of Omaha’s crime on the governor’s Corrections Department and vowing, if necessary, to stop Heineman’s tax plan in its tracks.

As Ashford puts it, “I’m not going to get pushed around by the governor.”
