Public policy has turned personal on the floor of the state legislature.

An ongoing debate over amber lights on neighborhood watch cars escalated this week when Sen. Ernie Chambers accused fellow lawmaker Scott Lautenbaugh of…..

Lautenbaugh is the sponsor if a bill which would allow crime- cutting patrols to put the lights on their cars and trucks.

Critics, warning of a Tray von Martin scenario, claim the lights give off a false glow of legal authority.

In a close vote lawmakers have given the bill their initial OK.

Trying to keep it off the books Chambers has launched a filibuster.
