MINOT, N.D. — It wasn’t a tweet I thought would be all that controversial.

In Illinois, a local school district told parents that students would not be allowed to wear pajamas during at-home, online instruction.

Some parents don’t like the rule.

“The parents should get over it,” I wrote on Twitter. “Get your kids up, get them dressed, and get them ready to learn.”

The opprobrium that statement earned me, from the right and the left and places in between, was remarkable. Especially since it’s something I didn’t think most parents even needed to be told.
