The NDGOP is governing successfully, and the Bastiat Caucus hates it

MINOT, N.D. — Car alarms are pointless.

On paper, they make good sense. What better way to alert you to someone tampering with your car than a lot of loud honking and beeping? Only, when was the last time you heard a car alarm and assumed someone was up to something nefarious as opposed to the alarm getting set off accidentally?

Car alarms are too alarmist.

The same can be said of the loosely organized Bastiat Caucus movement in North Dakota. They’re always setting off ideological alarms about the way North Dakota is governed, and in recent months, they’ve been taking extraordinary action based on those alarms.

The movement’s activists attempted and largely failed to take over control of several NDGOP district committees this spring.
