Port: Is Doug Burgum just a bored billionaire?
MINOT, N.D. — There is no way for any Republican, including Gov. Doug Burgum , who announced his presidential campaign yesterday, to win the GOP’s 2024 nomination without going through Donald Trump.
That’s not opinion. It’s math. The disgraced former president has been polling at more than 50% in one survey after another since early April. Even if everyone who isn’t currently supporting Trump coalesced around a single candidate, that candidate would probably lose.
