Police Report: Kirsten Baesler Had "Large Bump" On Her Head After Alleged Florida Incident

Yesterday the Associated Press reported a couple of details from an incident in Florida where North Dakota Superintendent Kirsten Baesler was allegedly attacked by her fiancee Todd Tschosik.

I’ve obtained the police report from that incident, which you can read below.

According to the narrative of Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Jennifer Breneman, she reported to The Grand Floridian, a hotel/resort near Disney World, at 3:08am on July 12, 2014. She and other officers met Mitchel Baesler, one of Kirsten Baesler’s sons, who said he had woken up to see Todd Tschosik “straddling” his mother with his hands around her neck.

Mitchel, who had a scratch on his chest according to the deputy, says that after an initial period of disbelief he got out of his bed and began hitting Tschosik.

She said that while she was sleeping she woke up to Tschosik on top of her and restraining her telling her “this is it.”[/mks_pullquote]

Breneman noted that when she met Baesler at the hotel room she had “a large bump on her forehead, just above her left eye.” Baesler told the deputy that “Todd was physical” with her. She said that while she was sleeping she woke up to Tschosik on top of her and restraining her telling her “this is it.”

Beyond that Baesler refused to complete a statement and said she did not want to involve the police. She was advised that due to Florida’s domestic violence laws Tschosik would be arrested anyway.

According to Breneman, Tschosik refused to speak with law enforcement. He “had the odor commonly associated with alcohol emitting from his person” and when he stood “his body swayed side to side,” according to Breneman.

He had a “small laceration to the left side of his lower lip, and a laceration over his left eyebrow.” These injuries were apparently checked by paramedics at the scene.

Breneman says that after Tschoski was arrested he claimed he was “set-up by the victim and her children.” He said he claimed that when he returned to the hotel room he kissed Baesler at which point her son attacked him.

Tschosik’s mugshot from the incident is above.

Here’s what he told the Associated Press about this incident yesterday:

Tschosik, 49, in a statement Monday called the Florida incident “regrettable” but said “there was no assault on Ms. Baesler.”

Baesler was arrested over the weekend in a separate incident during which she allegedly assault Tschosik in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday. According to reports Tschosik was bleeding from a wound on his head.

UPDATE: Baesler entered a “not guilty” plea today in court. Her trial is scheduled for March 23rd.

According to theĀ Forum’s Mike Nowtazki, Baesler may well seek a jury trial:

Baesler has been ordered to have no contact with Tschosik and will remain free on a $150 bond.
