Second Republican Announces Candidacy For State Auditor

As Democrats struggle to find candidates to fill even top of the ticket races like Governor and U.S. Senator, it seems Republicans are going to see competition in even their down-ticket races.

First we learned that Bismarck Tribune publisher Brian Kroshus is running for State Auditor as a Republican. Now comes word that Josh Gallion will be seeking the NDGOP endorsement for that position as well.

Who is Gallion? He’s from Bismarck and he’s currently the Accounting Manager for the North Dakota Public Service Commission. He’s planning to announce his candidacy in Bismarck, Fargo and Grand Forks later this week.

You can read his full press release below.

Kroshus, meanwhile, hasn’t made an official announcement yet. His impending candidacy became news when I first reported it here on SAB. Kroshus is expected to make his official announcement, perhaps with the de rigeur multi-city media tour which is a staple of North Dakota campaigns – in a few weeks.
