“There are a lot of good people who sit in the sidelines because they get attacked,” Senator Kevin Cramer said on this episode of Plain Talk.

The comment was part of a discussion about the political controversy surrounding Fisher Industries, a North Dakota-based company which has been campaigning for an opportunity to build President Donald Trump’s southern border wall. The company has come under a vicious barrage of attacks from left wing politicos and their media mouthpieces, with some suggesting an untoward relationship between Cramer and the company.

“It’s spin to drag them through the mud,” Cramer said of the situation, adding that these sort of attacks “could scare people off” from bidding on projects such as the border wall.

Senator Cramer also spoke about wind energy, and took questions from listeners about trade, border security, and Social Security.

Also on this episode, North Dakota Democrats are complaining about committee assignments, but at least two of them turned down opportunities to chair committees.
