Plain Talk: Jon Stewart’s Dumb Moment

0

On this episode of Plain Talk, Congressman Kelly Armstrong takes listener questions. Among them one about where Armstrong was during that committee hearing where comedian Jon Stewart blew up.

“I was there for the first hour,” Armstrong said, adding that he had to leave to attend to other duties such as an oversight hearing and a meeting, alongside Senators Kevin Cramer and John Hoeven, with a deputy Attorney General concerning federal land use.

Asked if Stewart was grandstanding Armstrong would only say that the outburst “fits into a lot of things that happen” in Washington D.C. “I’ll leave it to others” to comment on Stewart’s motivations, Armstrong said.

Of the legislation Stewart was backing, Armstrong noted that it passed in committee unanimously. “It’s going to pass on the House floor and it will pass big,” he said.

Also, a recent report says North Dakota is one of the least fun states in the nation. Should we even care?
