Plain Talk: “Donald Trump Has Never Been a Real Fiscal Conservative” Senator Kevin Cramer Says

“Move on.”

That’s what Senator Kevin Cramer had to say about the Mueller hearings on this episode of Plain Talk.

“I told a group of reporters, you are the only people who cares,” he added, saying he doesn’t hear much from constituents about the Mueller investigation or the hearings.

He said that special investigations are “a distraction” from governing. He’s going to be skeptical of them going forward and it doesn’t matter if they’re targeting Republicans or Democrats. “When everyone is under investigation it diminishes the importance of any one investigation,” he said.

Also, recently conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said fiscal issues aren’t important. “Nobody is a fiscal conservative anymore,” he said on his show. “All this talk about concern for the deficit and the budget has been bogus for as long as it’s been around.”

“That’s a cynical view,” Cramer said on Limbaugh’s surprising comments, “but then it’s easy to be cynical these days.”

Asked if he feels President Donald Trump is a conservative, Cramer said no. “He didn’t run as a conservative. He ran as a populist. He’s governed as a populist.”

“Donald Trump has never been a real fiscal conservative,” Cramer added.
