Ed Schultz: There's No Gun Control In Chicago

21

Ed Schultz, who once touted himself as a “gun toting liberal” because of his fondness for hunting, has been one of the loudest advocates for gun control on MSNBC because he’s a media whore who says what he’s paid to say.

But you’d think even an erstwhile “gun toting liberal” would know that Chicago is kinda, sorta ground zero for gun control. I mean, he can’t possibly be this dumb, can he?

The gun laws and the gun violence in Chicago is a helluva lot different than it is in New York City. There’s two different worlds when it comes to gun violence, it’s not even close. New York City is not, you know, an all-safe zone or what not, I’m not trying to make that case. But a city that has got strict, the strictest gun laws in America put forth by Mayor Bloomberg, versus the gun laws that apparently don’t even exist in Chicago, you’ve got two totally different numbers when it comes to lives lost.

Chicago, of course, is an inconvenient truth for the gun control crowd. Not only does Chicago have some of the toughest gun control laws in the nation (one of the two landmark decisions handed down by the Supreme Court affirming the 2nd amendment as an individual right to keep and bear arms originated as a challenge to Chicago’s gun ban), but Chicago has an awful record on gun crime.

Chicago, to put it simply, is proof positive that gun control doesn’t really work very well as a policy to address crime.

Unless your Ed Schultz, and then you just invent your own version of reality.
