“There’s some parts of it I’ve found easier,” Congressman Kevin Cramer told me yesterday during our radio interview.

I had asked him what it was like to go about making policy amid intense media scrutiny of President Trump.

“You don’t have this scrutiny of the hyper media,” Cramer added, though he conceded that while the attention of most journalists is focused elsewhere “you don’t have as much transparency on the process.”

The Comey testimony, slated for later this morning, is the shiny object the national press is obsessing over of late. Cramer said he wasn’t expecting much to come of the highly-touted testimony.

“We seem to be always waiting for the something that isn’t there to be revealed,” he said.

The Congressman expects Comey to say that “at times he was uncomfortable” during his interactions with President Trump. He also added that Comey “seems to like the spotlight” and that observers of his testimony should remember “he didn’t quit the job.”
